Beerwah Paramedic Ryan Hansen is no stranger to racing, spending most of his days treating the sick and injured. On Sunday August 19 his race will be a 42.2km run dressed in his paramedic uniform as he attempts to set a new Guiness World Record for the “Fastest Marathon dressed as a paramedic (male)”.

More than 12 months worth of planning and whole lot of training has gone into this attempt, which will also raise much needed funds and awareness for QAS Legacy, a charitable organisation that supports ambulance service families following the loss of a loved one.

If you can throw a few dollars towards this incredibly worthy cause, please click here. He’s also in need to two credible witnesses to run alongside him to confirm this incredible feat. His aim is to finish in 3hrs55mins and if you want to be part of his Guinness World Record attempt by helping pace and encourage him drop us a line and we’ll put you in touch.

The 7 Sunshine Coast Marathon has raised more than $1.2 million for charities and local community groups since it began in 2012. The event and thousands of runners have been instrumental in raising funds and awareness for more than 70 causes, including major beneficiaries Ronald McDonald House South East Queensland and Westpac Foundation.
