Sunshine Coast 2032 Taskforce

At The Innovation Centre Sunshine Coast (USC – University of the Sunshine Coast), our team was privileged to be involved in the Sunshine Coast 2032 Taskforce and take a couple of hours away from the challenges going on in the world of today and look towards the future. The 2032 Olympic & Paralympic Games! With multiple events set to take place on our beautiful Sunshine Coast, we are super excited that the Marathon is one of those events!

Just like the Olympic & Paralympic Games, our events can’t take place without the support of our local community and volunteers. Pictured here with Australian Olympic legend Dawn Fraser and Melissa West from our Atlas Events team is the Sunshine Coast’s own legend of volunteers Barry Cheales from Buderim Men’s Shed. Year after year over 50 volunteers from Buderim Men’s Shed help keep our community and runners safe during the Sunshine Coast Marathon as our course marshals and we just couldn’t do it without you all!

Volunteers will be key to the success of the games, and there’s no better time than now to start being a part of events like the Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival to gain the skills that will be needed when it’s our turn to showcase our region to the world. If you would like to Volunteer at this year’s Sunshine Coast Marathon Festival, more information can be found here.

Thank you to Ted O’Brien MP and Regional Development Australia Sunshine Coast for another informative and valuable event.
